Top Conservative State to Live: Idaho
With the closest proximity to Washington, low taxes, and a solid conservative base, is it any wonder Idaho is the most popular choice for Washington conservatives to go. Add one of the fastest growing economies in the nation and you have an easy transition just across the border.
While democrats have established a small stronghold in Boise proper, the rest of the state is red. In migration is still leaning conservative so things are looking good for the future.
The climate is similar if not a tad bit colder than Washington with the southern parts more like Eastern Washington. Summer and Winter activities are both readily available.
Cost of living is still relatively low compared to Washington but housing costs are rising due to demand. The quantity of housing is slightly behind the curve so the upward pressure is on.
While the concentration of population remains around Boise there is still plenty of area to get out in the country. The combination is attractive and provides culture, music, and sports opportunities without having to live in the city. Health care is centered but available especially in and around the I 90 corridor. Roads and transportation need some work but are getting better.
Idaho scores #1 in 3 of the 12 categories and 2nd in 6 more, giving it a strong second place finish just behind our top choice.
